Duvet 200x200

Tips for choosing the best 200x200 cm duvet
To sleep well, it's important to feel comfortable in your bed. The duvet is one of the elements that greatly influences our comfort. Are you considering equipping yourself with a 200x200 cm duvet? Here's everything you need to know.
The 200x200 cm duvet: for which bed size?
To choose the right duvet size, a number of factors must be taken into account:
the dimensions of your mattress;
the number of sleepers, their build and their height;
the desired overhang on each side of the mattress;
the sleeping habits of sleepers (do they move a lot or not?).
The 200x200 cm duvet is suitable for single beds (90x190 cm) or double beds (140x190 cm or 140x200 cm). In the first instance, it will drape generously on each side, allowing the sleeper to snuggle in and stay perfectly warm. However, it is advisable to prevent the duvet from touching the floor for hygiene reasons. In the second instance, the drape will be less significant (30 cm), making it suitable for sleepers of smaller stature who move little during the night. Please note that this size is also ideal for occasional sleeping arrangements, such as a clic-clac sofa, for example.
Which filling should you choose for your duvet?
You will have the choice between two types of duvets: the natural duvet and the synthetic duvet. The natural duvet has a filling of feathers and down, while the synthetic duvet is most often filled with polyester. Duvets with natural filling are appreciated for their lightness, softness, and the warmth they provide. Down also tends to contour to the body's shape, offering great comfort. As for synthetic duvets, they also provide good thermal insulation when they are of high quality and have the advantage of being very easy to care for. Firmer, they also deform less quickly. Lastly, they are naturally hypoallergenic and therefore very suitable for people prone to allergies.
Bonsoirs offers a selection of high-end duvet inserts (200x200 cm). They are made in France from high-quality materials and will provide optimal comfort in all seasons. The down we use is French, 100% traceable, and respects animal welfare. As for the polyester fibers used for the synthetic filling, they are recycled, robust, and durable.
Which casing and stitching should you choose?
The duvet cover is also an important element. For the material, it is best to opt for cotton, which has the advantage of being soft, breathable and allowing good moisture wicking. Make sure, however, that its weave is dense enough, especially if it's a down duvet. Indeed, a weave that is too loose risks letting the down escape. You should therefore check that the density of the casing is at least 90 threads/cm².
As for quilting, there are several types:

The box stitching is perfect for keeping the filling evenly distributed. It's also the option we've chosen for all our products. As for our covers, they are made from 100% cotton fabric with a density of 135 threads/cm². This guarantees excellent support for the down and feathers, in the case of natural duvets, as well as good durability.
How to care for your duvet?
If you have chosen a synthetic duvet, you can machine wash and tumble dry it without the filling being damaged. However, a natural duvet requires more careful maintenance. They can be machine washed following the instructions on the product label. To maintain its loft, do not hesitate to add one or two tennis balls to your washing machine drum.
Choosing the right bed linen
Once you have chosen the duvet that suits you, you will need a bed linen set including a 200x200 duvet cover and one or two pillowcases, as well as a fitted sheet. The choice of material and colors will depend on your taste and the ambiance you wish to create in your bedroom. Bonsoirs offers you sheets and duvet covers made from high-quality materials such as cotton gauze, washed linen, cotton sateen, percale, and washed sateen.
Cotton gauze is highly prized for its softness, durability and breathability.
Washed linen offers a very pleasant feel and does not warp.
With a luxurious appearance, cotton sateen is silky to the touch and will allow you to spend your nights in absolute softness.
Cotton percale is particularly durable, allows air to circulate, and has the advantage of providing coolness when it's warm.
Finally, washed satin is acclaimed for its exceptional softness and suppleness.
As for colors, Bonsoirs favors soft, soothing shades that won't disturb your sleep. You'll thus have the choice of celadon, old rose, sand, or pearl gray, for example. Prints are also designed not to be aggressive. In short, everything is done to ensure you enjoy optimal sleep quality.
