Measure the length and width of the tabletop, then add twice the desired drop. The 170 × 250 cm (67 × 98 in) and 170 × 350 cm (67 × 138 in) sizes suit rectangular tables of different lengths.
A 180 × 180 cm (71 × 71 in) square tablecloth can dress a round table, creating a graphic drop. Check the diameter of the tabletop and the resulting drop length before choosing.
Cotton is soft and practical for everyday use. The linen-cotton blend has a more pronounced texture and a naturally elegant drape.
A drop of 8 to 12 inches (20 to 30 cm) on each side is generally comfortable. It can be longer for a more formal table, as long as it doesn’t get in the way of your guests.
Blot up any excess right away, apply a stain remover that’s safe for the fabric, and follow the product’s care instructions. Don’t let the stain dry before washing.
